Product Reviews - LA Girl Pro HD Concealer

About a month ago, I ran out of my favourite liquid concealer from Stage Cosmetics, and was in search of a new brand to try. I usually am very particular when it comes to concealers and foundations, as I love high coverage stuff which doesnt cake or look too white on me! I asked around, and my friend Sarah recommended me to try LA Girl's Pro HD Concealer!

Crease-resistant, opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes. Chamomile extract & vitamin C & E. Includes brush-tip applicator for easy application.

Its been a month since I've been using this as my daily concealer to cover up the imperfections on my face, and I have to say, I am in LOVE with it. As the product promises, it doesn't crease and cake on you throughout the day unlike some other concealers on the market, and it covers up SO WELL!

With my previous concealer from Stage Cosmetics, I would notice that my undereyes would have a slight shadow by the evening, but with LA Girl PRO HD Concealer, the coverage lasted me from when I put it on to when I removed it using an oil-based make-up remover at night, more than 15 hours! What more, I even tried hopping into the shower with it on and it didn't budge, making it waterproof as well!

I absolutely adore the fact that this brand offers many different shades, and respects that there are many different skin shades and undertones out there for many different people. Since I'm a light tan, I use MEDIUM BISQUE as my color. It blends in perfectly with my natural skintone, and once oxidized, looks like it isn't even there!

Here's a before after-pic I took of me using LA Girl PRO HD Concealer before I went out for my festive house-to-house visits for Raya last weekend!

It even managed to cover up that huge pimple I had on top of my lip. Amazing stuff!

This product is a MUST-HAVE in my personal and professional make-up kit from now on! Affordable and totally effective! :)

Sometime last year, I did make-up for Men's Folio magazine, for an editorial spread featuring watches and classic timepieces. The entire concept focused on sensuality, so I gave the model luscious deep red lips using colours from MAC Cosmetics to complement the entire look. Take a look!

Product Reviews - L'Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa (For Dry & Damaged Hair)

Recently, I was rummaging through my stash of haircare products, and I found a big tub of L'Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa Nourishing Creambath Treatment, specially formulated for dry & damaged hair!

Sensory System 2: Continue your personal Hair Spa experience wit this sensory massage service after the shampoo. The nourishing formula is based on purified water, a cationic agent and conditioning silicone. The hair gains manageability and softness for healthy looking hair with beautiful shine. For dual action on hair and scalp: blend this creambath with the appropriate scalp concentrate.

I was having a dry spell with my hair recently, possibly due to the extremely hot and humid weather condition which left my hair so big and frizzy everytime I went out of the door! One fine evening, I decided to whip out this fabulous tub of product and slather it all over my hair after my usual shampoo regime:

The consistency of this product, as the name "creambath" suggests, was thick and creamy, the way a good potent treatment should be, and the lovely smell of coconut that came with the product made me feel like I was really having a hair spa when I had it on! I put a generous amount of the product through my hair, from root to tip, and massaged some of it into my scalp to nourish my slightly dry scalp as well. The product, though creamy, felt light, and didn't harden my hair after a while unlike other hair treatments. I left it on for 20 minutes to set in, and washed it off. Here's the end result!

My hair felt so soft after I blow-dried it, and the amazing thing was, the treatment, though being so thick and creamy, did not weigh down my hair at all. It left my hair feeling soft, smooth, whilst still retaining the volume in my hair, which I love! The next morning, after rolling around in my sleep, I woke up, looked in the mirror, and my hair was still tame! This does not happen very often as I usually get up with a lion's mane. An absolute plus point! :D

From the event launch held a few weeks back, MUFE gave me a bag of goodies from the Black Tango Collection to try out!

In my Black Tango Goodie bag, I received the Black Tango Palette, 3 sticks of Aqua Rouge, and the latest color from the MUFE Aqua Creams Collection, a fabulous Aqua Cream Matte Black!

Here are my reviews on the products which I've tried and tested!

MUFE Black Tango Palette

Swatches of the MUFE Black Tango Palette; such intense color payoffs!

The Black Tango Aqua Cream Palette comes with 4 shades of Aqua Creams, a lovely deep matte brown-maroon shade, a rich matte navy blue shade, a matte dark green shade, and a shimmery white shade. 

In the palette, you are also able to find a brush which makes application of the Aqua Creams a breeze. Being an avid user of professional make-up brushes, I was pretty sceptical about the two-sided eyeshadow brush which came along with the palette at first, but after trying it out whilst doing a Make-Up Trial, I found that it was really good!

The color payoff from the Aqua Creams were also lovely and pigmented, my most favourite being the deep matte brown-maroon shade which I used in my Make-Up Trial. Waterproof and Smudgeproof, the shadows were easy to blend out, and once dried, they didn’t budge at all.

As seen from the swatch, one swipe of the product is enough to attain the full color intensity, and that was without application of any eyeshadow primer! The packaging is also easy and convenient to carry around, comes with a handy mirror and the little caps that come along with each container of Aqua Cream within the palette prevent the product from staining other surfaces! Ever since I received the palette, I’ve been using it on shoots whenever I need a quick and easy smokey eye look!

MUFE Aqua Rouge Waterproof Lipsticks

Aqua Rouge ; $39.00

MAKE UP FOR EVER launches its latest addition to its AQUA range, the AQUA ROUGE lipstick, a very long-lasting waterproof lipstick with a dazzling color result. Highly glossy, concentrated lipstick with an innovative element that combines two applications in one. I received 3 different colors to try out, #8 – a lovely hot red shade, #15 - a soft pale pink shade, and #10 - a burgundy shade.

At first when I saw the packaging of the Aqua Rouge lipstick, I had the impression that it was just a regular lip gloss. Little did I know that it was actually a lip-STICK, and that the colour payoff was so intense! It comes in a two-sided stick form, one side with the lip color, which gives the color and dries to a matte finish, and the reverse side is a transparent gloss which gives a vinyl finish and protects the color by acting as a sealant to make the lipstick waterproof. The product comes with an easy applicator too which you can just easily glide onto your lips with minimal smudges!

I was pretty skeptical at first about how a GLOSSY lipstick could possibly be waterproof, but MUFE Aqua Rouge has proved me that it was possible. After applying the #8 shade on my lips with the gloss on top, I went to the bathroom and showered my lips under some running water. 3 minutes later, I looked in the mirror and the lipstick did NOT budge at all! It still shone as glossy as ever too! I was completely blown away at this new revolutionary lipstick. This would mean that you could even go swimming with red lips, and still come out of the pool looking just as glamorous! Definitely a plus point from me!

 

MUFE Aqua Cream  - NEW! Shade #27 Matte Black

Aqua Cream Matte Black; $39.00

The new Aqua Cream shade Matte Black presents the same formula as the current Aqua Cream range. It is the first shade in the Aqua Cream range that offers a unique difference with a matte result. Aqua Cream is a waterproof cream color that provides an outstanding impeccable hold. Makeup stays put, it does not run, crease or transfer to the upper lid. With this new addition to the existing Aqua Cream range, Aqua Cream range has a total of 26 shades.

I absolutely love this new shade of Aqua Cream which MUFE is launching along with the Black Tango Collection! It delivers such an intense rich MATTE black color, perfect for the darkest smokey eye you can ever create! I also love the fact that I can double it up as a waterproof and smudgeproof gel eyeliner, making the product multi-purpose and fully functional! As seen in the swatch, all I needed to achieve the high color intensity of the line was just a hint of product; a little Aqua Cream goes a long way!
